I’m baaaack! I know it’s been radio silence for a long time on this travel blog, but that’s because Lionel and I haven’t been traveling. We’ve been settled on Koh Tao now for a while. This month was actually our 5 year anniversary of starting our PADI Open Water scuba diving course. In December this year, it’ll be our 5 years of actually living and working on Koh Tao as dive professionals! Crazy how fast the time has gone. I’ve slithered back out of the water that is now my home to talk about something that has radically changed my life recently. The thing that I believe is an essential…

We are the worst people…
…at blogging. But that’s because we’re having too much fun diving! I’m making no apologies right now. We did set up this blog to inform our family and friends of what we’re up to, and where we are, and it also grew to become a blog that hopefully helped people with planning their trip around South East Asia. (Un)Fortunately, the reason we’re so slack with blogging is because we are really enjoying life right now. It is awesome. Everyday we jump into the water, and we see some pretty interesting stuff. We move around in a 3D space, blowing bubbles, and we live on a tropical island. I film brand…

Excuses To Not Travel
We come across a lot of people who after hearing that we just decided to pack up and leave home to travel South East Asia, tell us that they wish they could do it. I then give them a list of reasons of why they should do it, and they then give me a list of excuses on why they can’t. Here’s my response! I Have No Money Bull. You have money. You just don’t know how to use it. You obviously have enough money to buy a computer and to buy the internet to read this. You have money, you might not have enough to travel using planes,…

365 Days Later
We left Melbourne one year ago today! Booyah! To be honest, before we left we had only taken out a six month travel insurance plan. We’ve had to extend it month by month since! We’ve been very lucky that we are still in a position to travel for a bit longer and that’s thanks to having a tight-arse budget. It’s been harder since moving to Koh Tao since everything here is about double the mainland prices, but previously we were very good about paying on average about $12 USD a night for accommodation, and limiting our meals to just the minimum eg. Noodle soups for breakfast, noodle soups for lunch…

Mapping A Dive Site
Lionel and I went to ‘map’ a dive site a few weeks ago. We were given a dive site called ‘Twins,’ so called because there is a shallow and a deep pinnacle, and it’s also bordered by two small islands connected by a sandbar!
