We thought land travel was tricky in Malaysia, seems like we were wrong. There is no efficient nor cost effective way to travel from Trang to Koh Tao. We went to a travel agent and they quoted us about 1300baht each to take a minibus to Surat Thani and then a night ferry to Koh Tao. Our other option was to make our own way to Krabi and stay an extra night, then go with a minibus from Krabi to Surat Thani and take the speedboad. This was 850baht per person, of course excluding the night’s accommodation and trip to Krabi. We really didn’t know and wanted to go the…

Going On A Guided Tour to Marocot Cave in Southern Thailand
After contemplating and doing a lot of research on how to do Marocot cave by ourselves, we reluctantly decided to go for the 4 island tour from Trang. Trang night market
A great way to spend an evening or three in Trang! There is an abundance of really cheap and fantastic food, nice people and a lack of tourists. This is a very charming place, Thailand that is not suffering from Tourism poisoning. Go to the one near the station, there is another one further up near the clock tower, however we enjoyed the one near the station more.

In Georgetown you can go to the ticket offices near the big white tower and shop around. Most of them are quite rude and not helpful at all. We went with KKKL and they were quite ok. There are no direct services to Trang and a minivan will cost about RM60 per person to Trang. They all go via Hat Yai and a minibus costs about RM30 per person. The journey takes about 3.5 hours and you have to go through customs on…
